On October 15th 2010, Raven Bay was able to send every teacher from Chief Justice Milvain (CJM) to the University of Calgary to attend a full day course on childhood literacy. This course provided an opportunity for the teachers to learn more about brain development and it's impact in literacy.
The school was named after Chief Justice Milvain (1904-1993). The Honorable James Valentine Hogarth Milvain became a judge of the Alberta Supreme Court in 1959 and Chief Justice of this court in 1968. In 1979, he retired at the mandatory 75 years of age.
Chief Justice Milvain is a community of diverse learners who take responsibility for their learning in their pursuit of excellence. Each individual will be supported in their journey of lifelong learning and will contribute to the safe, caring and accepting environment we promote.
