The Cisco Hunt List is a feature that allows an Administrator to re-direct incoming calls to a group of available directory numbers if there is no answer or the line is busy or unavailable. I have used this feature as a solution for managing Help Desk calls after work hours. It was configured so that the call would contact the on call person’s cell phone, and if there is no answer, continue to contact the IT Supervisor’s cell phone without pause. However, one of the limitations I had encountered was the inability to re-direct incoming calls to personal cell phones.
The Cisco Hunt List was designed for the routing of internal phone numbers only, which meant that only office numbers could be reached. In order to address this, I incorporated Cisco’s Unified Mobility, also known as Single Number Reach (SNR). Once configured, this would allow the call to ring the on call person’s office phone as well as their cell phone, with only a one second delay when connecting to the cell phone.
There was also one other issue I encountered when I had tested this solution, and that was the failure to re-direct the call to voicemail in the event that nobody was able to take the call. This was simply resolved by adding the designated Hunt List number as an alternate extension to the Help Desk line; configured within Cisco Unity Connection Administration.

Most people think of a “disaster” as something catastrophic and geographically widespread— an earthquake, fire, flood, or tornado, for example. Truth is, the disasters that cost global business the most don’t fit the traditional definition of catastrophe.
